If I wasn't playing football or basketball as a child, chances were good that I was in church. My whole family was involved in leading the service, so I had no choice but to attend.

I came to know the Lord and love Him at a very early age, but I drifted away for a time. I only saw God as a heavenly Father who passed judgement on the right and wrong actions of His children.

But shortly after getting married, I recommitted my life to Him. I came to see God's other side. He is a God of love—one who cares for His children. He sent Jesus to be our personal Savior.

Now that He is Lord of my life, I want to tell my friends and others about Him. He has given me greater knowledge, wisdom, peace, and understanding. There is more to be done in my life, but God is truly showing me that "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength" (Phil. 4:13).
