God is Good!

He has done so much for me in every possible way. He has blessed me with a loving family, a beautiful wife and the opportunity to play in the NFL. He has guided me through the loss of loved ones and seen me through six surgeries, allowing me to come back and compete in the game I love.

All these things are wonderful, but the greatest gift He has given me is eternal life with Him. I received Christ as my personal savior when I was eight years old. Although I knew the importance of the decision I was making, I did not realize how it was going to affect my life down the road.

My senior year in high school brought a tragedy that challenged my faith. A close friend of mine died in a car accident. My faith was shaken. My relationship with Christ suffered as I began to make worldly things a priority. I only sought God when I was desperate. It wasn't until my fifth year in the NFL that I realized I was not allowing God complete control of my life. I had known God all this time but did not trust Him in all things.

I recommitted my life to God on a plane trip coming home after a game, and my life has been so much better. I thought that playing in the NFL would be my greatest accomplishment, but having God in my life is the sweetest gift of all.
