As a child, my view of God was somewhat clouded. I believed there was a God, but I felt I missed out when He was handing out blessings. I made a lot of bad decisions while growing up in the projects. All of my ways were selfish.
While in college, I struggled. I wanted God to help, but knew I would have to surrender my selfish ways to Him. I tried giving God parts of my life instead; however, bad decisions continued to haunt me. The guilt of being unforgiven was unbearable. I was sure I would spend eternity in Hell if I were to die. Finally, in desperation and sick and tired of the way I was living, I asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of all my sins and make me the person He wants me to be.
Today, because of God's complete forgiveness, I am free from the guilt of my past sins. His peace fills me. I now know Jesus Christ who paid the price of my sin--death.
