Growing up, I saw many people who were successful and well-liked; all I wanted was to be like them. I figured if I did what they did, then they would surely love and accept me.

I tried to do whatever it took, whether right or wrong, to "fit in." Much of what I did was just plain stupid--all to win the love of my friends. I thought that God worked in the same way. If I did all the things that He wanted, I would be loved by Him. I came to understand that I could never do enough good things to please God. Only by having faith in Jesus Christ could I be accepted by God.

Now I know that God loves me and will never leave me, even if I mess up. He gives me the strength and courage to do what I know is right, even if other people don't like it!
