In the Super Bowl, I kicked in front of 80,000; 20 million watched on television. What a contrast to the muddy, old practice field in Virginia where I quietly practiced just 13 months before. Scouts told me I had a shot at the NFL, but I was overlooked in the draft. For months I couldn't even get an invite to a training camp. I didn't handle the disappointment well because I felt football was all the mattered. But I was able to let go of my self-pity when I started seeking God for answers, guidance and strength. God answered my prayers, drew me closer to Himself, and led me to people who are helping me accomplish my goals in life as well as in football. As I have asked God for help, received His forgiveness and read the Bible more in depth, He has more than met my needs.
