Michael Jones
Michael doesnt bow to pressure. His decision never to play rugby on a Sunday cost him his place in the 1995 New Zealand World Cup squad because of the number of Sunday games scheduled, and earned him criticism. However, Michael is in no doubt about his stand.
When I stopped playing rugby, people soon forgot the player and one thing Id like to be remembered for is the one person who put God before rugby. I feel that people who would never have heard about God, have done so because of my stand, because its brought attention to it. Ive been able to show people that there obviously is a God who must exist or else someone wouldnt be prepared to do that.
